Bakers Lodge Murchison Falls National Park Uganda
Bakers lodge is located in the southern part of Murchison falls national park on the southern bank of the longest river in the world, the Nile which bisects the park from east to west into two parts. The lodge was named after Sir Samuel Baker, an English explorer who visited the region together with his wife Florence baker in the 1960s to confirm the presence of the beautiful and mighty waterfalls after they had been seen by John Speke and James Grant. Baker named the falls after the former president of the Royal Geographical Society Roderick Murchison.
The lodge is strategically located near the Nile and offers magnificent views of the surrounding areas. It is a luxury accommodation facility that offers quality services. The rooms offer clear views of the savannah plains where you may spot a number of animals. The buildings of the lodge are eco-friendly, well furnished with wooden material and thatched roofs. The lodge has a wide lounge and restaurant with open balconies overlooking the river Nile. They also organize for bush breakfast for guests who wish to have it in this beautiful African wilderness.
Baker’s lodge has 10 beautiful suites elevated on decks and overlooking the Nile. The lodge is hidden in large trees which contribute to the cool temperatures and serenity at the lodge. As guests relax at the lodge, the will spot numerous birds around the place.
The lodge offers car hire services and airport transfer services for its guests at an added fee. From the lodge, you can connect within a short time to Paraa dock where the boat cruise starts, to the northern side for the game drive and to Budongo forest for chimp tracking.
The lodge started operating in 2015 and it is today famous and loved because of the extreme comfort and enjoyment that makes the vacations of guests super lovely.
