Best Time to Visit Kidepo Valley National Park –Kidepo Valley national park is the real definition of wilderness. It is located in the far northeastern region of Uganda, at the border with South Sudan and close to Kenya. It is situated in an area occupied by the Karimojong people who have a lifestyle closely related to those of the Maasai in Kenya. Kidepo valley national park is the most remote park in Uganda, about 700km from Kampala. This is one of the reasons it is least visited but tourists who have visited it deeply fall in love with the adventurous experience it offers in its wilderness vast grasslands.

Kidepo Valley national park has a wide range of wildlife, offers stunning sceneries with magnificent landscapes. There are two climatic seasons experienced in Uganda; the dry season and wet season. The dry season has a long dry season from June to August and a short dry season from December to March and the wet season has two wet seasons from April to May and another from September to November.  Kidepo Valley national park is characterized with rocky semi-arid valleys. It is open for visits throughout the year and the best time for wildlife viewing is during the dry season when lots of animals can easily be spotted at the water points in the park. Animals such as buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, zebras and giraffes are some of those you will spot. The number of birds in the park is higher in the wet season when migratory birds have arrived.

Be aware that the weather is a little harsh during the dry season as this area experiences a semi-arid climatic conditions with average temperature of 27.5 degrees Celicious varying daily from about 21.5 degree Celicious to 30 degrees Celicious. It is important to prepare for this kind of weather.
