Stand out destination in Africa

Central Kalahari Game Reserve

Generally, there are few of the safari attractions in Africa as vast as the Central Kalahari Game reserve, the park covers a great part of Botswana. The park is mainly covered by the desert, during the dry seasons of the year, the park experiences too much dust around the River beds and sand dunes escalate due to strong winds blowing and too much heat produced which affects the temperatures and the life of the animals. The dry seasons bring a challenge to animals because the fields dry up, the water ponds dry up forcing the animals drain off the few remaining water holes in the park and all these persist, some animals may die as result of inadequate food and water for survive following the standards of the desert. When the rains are back, life gets back to normal since the plants flourish, the flowers spurting grass/ vegetation thrives and the rivers, lakes and water holes get filled with water and thus the life in the deserts gets back to normal since can now find pastures to eat and water to drink. Nonetheless, in this dusty desert, the rains come back for just a short while and the landscape returns thereafter fast to its evoked rusty colour full dust and sand dunes with strong winds lifting the dust ,  African countries are so often obsessed with the relentless struggle for survival, and perhaps none is better represented than this seemingly endless desert dry and hot throughout the year.

During the game drives, you can drive in the Kalahari desert for 2-3 hours of the day without you seeing and wildlife in the park, just like the animals, the safaris in the desert , is about searching for the animals around the places in the desert that have water holes since the animals gather around this water pond to drink water and to graze around in struggle for their survival. There are several animals’ species concentration around the water ponds, during this time, the small animals wait for the elephants to leave, there are hundreds of species anxiety around the lake. Cheeky springboks and the warthogs, and infant pachyderms will wait until the day’s sun is down and cool for them to approach the water and when the big animals have departed from the water source. This scene is populated by black-maned lions that live in prides that take away the vulnerable animals, there are lots of potential objectives, particularly as pride watches the waterhole, with small vegetation and water. Big animals travel thousands of kilometres in search for the water and their distant remarkable figures are one of Kalahari’s great images. The tusked male elephants, walking alone in the desert with whirling dust and dazzling fire, are another iconic sight.

A very specific safari experience, one marked rather by rivalry than abundance, is provided by Central Kalahari in contrast with the Okavangos and Chobes lusher countryside. It renders it a hypnotic pause on a long safari in Botswana to see the desert and how the Okavango oasis is so important to the biodiversity of Botswana. if the Kalahari Desert had the standards of the country, it would have been the 30 largest country in the world due its biodiversity and the area of land it covers. Therefore, expect long drives on bumpy highways. the use of micro flights, would best and they help save time that could be wasted driving on dusty roads full of sand and dunes, this park does not experience high number of visitors visiting the park, meaning that, tourists are uncommon, therefore, camps are wondrously situated in perfect areas which allows travelers ideal stops for exclusive high-end or for visitors on luxury safaris. You sometimes glance around in the park, looking in all directions and question yourself how distant and remote this place is full of dust and having hot temperatures during the day and during the night, it gets so cold to the freezing point.

Many of these camps, are situated far away from each other covering more than 50 miles away from one camp to another., rendering it one of the best locations for the people who trying to flee from the world and clear their minds. The park offers a range of events. Mostly you take further drives around the waterholes in the desert with the hope to sight the animals throughout the whole day. After an hour of nothing seen, you suddenly catch a leopard pulling the carcass of a springbok these creates an extra ordinary feeling compared to the previous hours when you hadn’t spotted any single animal. The camps are also situated offering the clear viewpoints or next to the water ponds, rives, you can therefore, stay in your lodge has you wait for the nomads who come around in search for water for the animals.  you may also have an opportunity to spot the animals from your lodge, camp as they come around in search for water. animal viewing in these areas, requires you to rise up early morning and depart at an early age for these activity to experience a safari, during early morning, you will be able to catch the early rises before they retrieve to their hiding places also a safari on horseback riding or walking safaris, will require you the same time to be able to see the animals., but they do have a sublime feeling of caprice again.
