Yes most definetly, it should be noted that there is an advance team of pre-trackers who wake up very early and follow the trails left behind by mountain gorillas right from where the gorillas spent the night. This advance team is not usually seen by the guests doing the gorilla trek, but they do communicate with the ranger guides such that the people assigned to trek a particular gorilla family follow the right trail. It should be noted that the gorillas keep on moving around the forest, and this is a daily routine where they leave the place the spend the night and move on to other places within the park as they feed. The advance team is equipped witj GPS Devices, Satelite phones, and keep tabs on the last known location of each gorilla family. It should also be noted that Gorillas only move about 2 to 3 Kilometers per day and therefore the advance team is able to easily detect them and then provide directions to the ranger guides who move with the tourists to search for the gorillas. The rangers usually receive this information very early in the morning as you are still enjoying your breakfast at your lodge.
