How To Get To Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda -Queen Elizabeth national park is located in the southern western Uganda shared by the districts of Kamwenge, Rubirizi, Ibanda, Rukungiri and Kasese. It is situated in the western arm of the east African rift valley across the equator. The park has varying vegetation which is the reason for the abundant and diverse wildlife, a reason why it is one of the destinations that do not miss on the itineraries of Uganda safaris.

Maps indicate that the park is located in Kasese district because it shares the biggest portion and places where the major activities take place such as Mweya and Kasenyi are also found in Kasese. However, the headquarters of the park are located in Katunguru, Rubirizi district, just about 20 km from Katunguru town off the main road.

Accessing the Queen Elizabeth national park from Kampala

It takes about 6 hours reach Queen Elizabeth national park on road via Masaka-Mbarara-Kasese highway. There is an option of passing via Mityana-Fort Portal-Kasese highway which takes about 8 hours. Passing via Fort Portal offers a chance to view this beautiful tourism city which is also the cleanest town in Uganda.

By flight, charter aircrafts operate from Entebbe international airport or Kajjansi to Mweya airstrip in the park or to Kasese airfield and then connect to Queen Elizabeth national park by a shorter drive of about an hour.
