Ichumbi Gorilla lodge is one of the best accommodations in Bwindi impenetrable national park that will make your Uganda gorilla trekking safari memorable. The lodge provides mid-range and luxurious accommodation facilities. It is located in Rushaga sector of Bwindi where we find many of the gorilla families of the park. Guests feel eat home at this lodge due to the excellent services and customer care offered by their friendly and well trained staffs and this fulfills the meaning of the word Ichumbi (Ichumbi means “a cool comfortable home”).
Ichumbi Gorilla lodge has 9 self contained cottages situated on a quiet forested hill which offers beautiful views of Bwindi forest and the Virunga volcanoes. The cottages are well furnished with the floor and balconies built with local timber which gives it a touch of African style while the doors are made of glass. The cottages have wide balconies where you can relax and watch over the area which frequently has birds. The rooms are self-contained with en-suite bathrooms and flushing toilets.
Guests enjoy delicious local and international dishes served at the restaurant. The bar stocks a wide range of soft drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks which you can enjoy as while relaxing at the balcony for the sundowner.
The lodge is situated about 15 minutes from Rushaga gate where guests get their briefing for the gorilla trek.

Getting there
Ichumbi is located in the southern part of the park and it takes about 10 hours to reach there by road from Kampala or Entebbe international airport. Alternatively, you can get there by air by flying from Entebbe or Kajjansi to Kisoro and then connect to Rushaga by road. The flight takes about one and a half hours and driving from Kisoro to Rushaga takes about 2 hours.
A quicker way of reaching Rushaga is by flying to Kigali international airport in Rwanda and drive for about 5 hours to Rushaga.
