Is Namibia Safe for tourists -Namibia is one of the safest countries in Africa with a low and sparse population and low crime rate. In its capital Windhoek is where most crimes are registered though these are less violent crimes. Be aware of scammers fond of carving names on palm-ivory nut, offer it to you expecting you to pay for the already personalized good. Other common crimes in Namibia are bag snatching, pick-pocketing and car theft.  Other towns of caution about your safety are the Sperrgebeit, Swakopmund, Walvis bay, Grootfontein and Tsumeb. You are advised to plan well and reach your destination before dusk especially if you are driving out of the capital.

There is a low rate of political violence. In case of any violent demonstrations, police is able to settle their people down in a short immediately.

Travelling to Namibia through organized safaris with a tour and travel company is the best way to get rid of safety problems. While at the destination, you are advised to follow instructions and guidelines from your guides and attendants at the lodge.
