2 Days Tour to Jinja and Sipi Falls

2 Days Jinja and Sipi Falls tour – This is an adventurous tour leading us Eastwards from Kampala. We shall drive through Mabira forest, sugarcane plantations in Lugazi and to Jinja to visit the source of the Nile and proceed to Kapchorwa for the overnight. The magical triple water falls in Kapchorwa give a thrilling feeling as you enjoy the breeze and view of Mount Elgon. While at Sipi, you may also choose to go for Mountain climbing through Budadiri using Sasa trail to the peak and back through Sipi trail that leads to the falls.

Detailed programme of the 2 days tour to Jinja and Sipi falls

Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Jinja and Kapchorwa

You are picked up by the driver guide after your breakfast early in the morning to start travelling to Jinja which is about 80km form Kampala. You’ll watch baboons along the road as you drive through Mabira forest which is also bordered by large sugarcane plantations. You will proceed to Jinja town and to the source of River Nile. You’ll thereafter go and have lunch and proceed to Kapchorwa district through Iganga and Mbale towns.

Before arriving at the lodge to close the day, the en-route has a lot to offer including a view of rice plantations, swamps that keep various bird species, a perfect view of Mount Elgon. A short meeting with the guide will be held to discuss about the next day’s activities.

Day 2: Community walk and Hiking at the Waterfalls

After your breakfast at the lodge, you start with a community walk, through coffee plantations up to the waterfalls where you have an over view of River Lodge. From here, you continue to the 2 other waterfalls. This requires a little fitness since it is hilly to climb to the waterfalls and steep to move back to the bottom and it lasts for about three hours. When you return to lodge, you’ll have lunch and checkout to return to Kampala.
