2 days lake mburo tour – Lake Mburo national park in Western Uganda is just about 230km from Kampala city and it covers a total area of 260sqkm. It is one of the smallest but most amazing national parks in Uganda with variety of wildlife, lakes and beautiful scenery. It is a home to zebras, giraffes, crocodiles, waterbucks, sitatunga, oribi, topi, and Jackson’s heartbeast, to mention but a few. The park is shared by Mbarara and Kirihura districts and it can be accessed through two gates; Sanga or Nshara which are both about 2km from the headquarters of the park.

Detailed programme for the 2 days lake mburo national park

Day 1: Travelling from Kampala to Lake Mburo national park

Early breakfast will be followed by briefing form the tour driver so that you’ll start your journey to the park. Our driver guide will drive you from your hotel/residence through Masaka road and we will stop over at the equator at Kayabwe and proceed via Masaka town and Lyantonde. Another stop over will be at Drum makers village to have a clue on how these drums are made and also buy for yourself some souvenirs if interested. We’ll thereafter have lunch in Mbarara and enter the park, check in at the lodge and relax as we enjoy the beautiful scenery of the park. In the evening, we shall have dinner and rest overnight.

Day 2: Game drive, boat cruise and travelling back to Kampala

Wake up early, have your breakfast and head for a game drive around the park expecting to see animals like buffaloes, elands, impalas, topis, zebras, reedbuck among others. After the game drive we shall go for a boat cruise for two hours viewing the beautiful vegetation, crocodiles, birds, hippos and other animals that may have come to the water body to drink. We shall thereafter exit the park and go for lunch in Mbarara town and start our journey back to Kampala.
