3 Days Murchison Falls and Rhino Safari – 3 Days Uganda Big Five Safari
A tour to Murchison via Ziwa rhino sanctuary enables you to see the entire big five in one trip. We will visit the only rhino sanctuary and the biggest wildlife national park in Uganda.
Ziwa rhino sanctuary is located about 175km off the highway of Kampala to Gulu in Nakasongola. Tracking for the rhinos in the sanctuary is led by a ranger guide and the walk takes up to 2 hours in areas where you’ll spot other animals like birds, Uganda kobs, buffaloes among others.
In Murchison national park is where we expect to complete our “big five” tour (for lion, buffalo, leopard and elephant). We shall not miss to see the powerful falls alongside birds, crocodiles, hippos and others on the boat cruise.
Detailed programme of the 3 days rhino and Murchison wildlife safari
Day 1: Kampala– Murchison Falls National Park
After an early morning breakfast, our guide will pick you from your hotel, by 6:30am then transfer to North-west through the famous Luwero Triangle and Masindi Town to Murchison Falls National Park. En-route lunch at Kabalega dinners or Masindi hotel.
Proceed and enter the park with a visit to the top of the falls where you can see the Nile’s beauty perfected! Marvel at the Nile, compressing from 50 meters to squeeze through a 6-meter canyon dropping 40 meters with a thunderous roar.
Dinner and overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge

Meal plan: Half-Board.
Day 2: Game drive and Nile boat ride.
Dawn game drive via the Nyamsika plateau, enjoy the view and you may see some of the big five like (elephants, lions, buffaloes and leopards), Giraffes, warthogs, bush backs, water bucks, heart-beasts and many more. Return to lodge for refreshment, breakfast and lunch, then after prepare for a boat trip on placid Victoria Nile, upstream, to the base of the falls.
En route you will see hippos, crocodiles, water bucks and a wide variety of birds like the unusual shoebill stork pelican bee-eater, egret and heron. The boat stops just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. Take pictures of the photogenic and majestic Murchison Falls. Proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Rhino Tracking at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Day 3: From Murchison back to Kampala, Enroute Rhino Tracking
Wake up for early morning breakfast at around 6:00am and set out for an early morning game drive by 6:30am. The timing is appropriate to catch the nocturnal and hunters before they retire to their hideouts. Explore the major game tracks, Queen and Albert for spectacular sightings of wildlife such as elephants, lions, giraffes, antelopes, Jackals, hyenas, Uganda kobs, oribis, buffalos, waterbucks, Jackson’s Hartebeests, bushbucks and hopefully the elusive leopards among others. you will stopover at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for Rhino tracking. You will have en-route lunch. Thereafter take your Leisurely drive via the villages of north-west Uganda back to Kampala or Entebbe. You will arrive in evening and our guide will drop you off at your hotel or Entebbe international airport for scheduled flight back home.
