Nkuringo Gorilla Trekking and Lake Mutanda 3 Days tour
After gorilla population census for 2018, Uganda amazingly records 459 gorillas with Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park in Kisoro-southwestern Uganda keeping more than 300. Bwindi forest gorillas have been habituated into 18 groups and their locations divided into 4 sectors: Nkuringo in the south, Ruhija in the East, Rushaga in the south and Buhoma in the north. These 4 sectors are all unique in their own settings with varied gorilla numbers, distance, and trail experience among others.
Nkuringo is the home to the Nkuringo gorilla family which trekkers who have visited it say it’s the loveliest group. The family was habituated in 2009 and is visited by only 8 people per day. Nkuringo is the farthest sector to trek into and also rewards with the best sightings of bird, monkeys, baboons and forest pigs and magnificent views of the three Virunga Mountain volcanoes; Mountains Mgahinga, Muhavura and Sabinyo.
