A safari to Kidepo Valley National park for four days pushes you to the most remote wilderness parts of Uganda. The park is located in the valley as its name states and is a home to animals like giraffes,antelopes, jackals, elephants and famous for ostriches. A safari to this park gives the real experience of wilderness. It is also endowed with different landscapes including Lamoj Mountains, the Kanangorok Hot springs, the Narus Valley and Kidepo Valley River.

If you  are interested in knowing the lifestyle of the indigenous people of the area- the Karimajongs, then you’ll be taken for a nature walk in their community and see the manyatta huts, their traditional and cultural dance and how they always have spears and bows on them while on your Kidepo Safari.

Detailed programme for the 4 Days safari to Kidepo Valley National park

Day 1: Travelling from Kampala to Kitgum

Immediately after breakfast, the tour driver of our company will meet with you for brief information about the safari including some of the activities and time to arrive and make different stopovers. You’ll start the journey to Kitgum about 452km far north of Kampala. As you leave Kampala town, you will get to Luweero where variety of fruits are displayed at the roadside. The journey continues through Nakasongola to Gulu where you’ll have your lunch. You’ll drive further to Kitgum where you spend the night.

Day 2: Kitgum to Kidepo Valley National Park

After having breakfast early in the morning, the unfinished journey continues from Kitgum through Kakwanga and Loitanit villages to Kidepo Valley National park and this takes approximately 3 hours. You’ll check in at the lodge, relax or enjoy the view of the wilderness meanwhile preparing to have lunch and rest. You’ll then go for a nature walk in the evening then get back to the lodge for dinner and the overnight.

Day 3: Game drive, Lunch and checking out

You’ll have your breakfast early in the morning and then leave the lodge for a game drive with expectations of sighting some of the big mammals; elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions and others. After this game drive you’ll be driven back to the lodge for lunch then start the journey to leave the park to Kitgum or Gulu. Check in for the night and rest.

Day 4: Travelling back to Kampala

After your breakfast, we get back on our journey to Kampala.
