5 Days Gorillas and Game from Kigali
This 5 day tour starts in Kigali and takes for an adventure to the Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park where you will track the endangered mountain gorillas in what is termed a once in a life time experience. The second part of your journey takes you to queen Elizabeth national where you will see a lot of game resident in the park including the tree climbing lions, elephants, Buffaloes, Leopards, Hippos, Impalas, Kobs, warthogs, etc.
Day 1: Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Our tour guide will pick you from the airport or your hotel in Kigali and cross you over to Uganda through Katuna Immigration boarder point to the northern sector of Bwindi impenetrable Forest national park. This scenic drive will take approximately 3 hours at a speed of 60KM/hr. Overnight stay at Gorilla Safari Lodge (luxury) / Gorilla Mist Camp (mid-range) / Bakiga Lodge (budget)
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking and Cultural Walk.
Have an early morning breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing by the ranger guides before embarking on your gorilla trek. Head into the forest and trek until you find the gorillas. Gorilla trekking can take 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After finding the gorillas in Bwindi, you will be allowed only 1 hour and then return.
In the evening, you may go for cultural walk in the nearby Batwa (Pygmies) community, where you will be entertained and given tales of their unique culture. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Safari Lodge (Luxury)/ Gorilla Mist Camp (Mid range)/Bakiga lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Wakeup to an early breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. On arrival game drive in ishasha while viewing tree climbing lions. Dinner and overnight in ishasha at Ishasha Jungle Lodge
Day 4: Game Drive & Launch Cruise at the Kazinga Channel.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the most diverse ecosystems in Africa. The open savannah dotted with Acacia and Euphorbia trees provide habitat for elephants, lions, leopards, Uganda Kobs and big herds of buffaloes. Ten primate species including chimpanzees are present.Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge(luxury) / Enganzi Lodge(budget)
Day 5: Departure – Transfer back to Kigali or Kampala
Take your breakfast at leisure at your hotel and later be ready to drive back to Rwanda. Your guide will drop you at your hotel or at the airport for your scheduled flight back home.
